The torch was passed today, as Eric Wahlbeck (center) retired from his position as Belleair's Director of Public Works, Parks, and Recreation by accepting a new position with Metro Development Group.

Eric inherited the Director job from his former boss and mentor, John Yevich (right), and is now passing the torch onto his right-hand-man, and former Public Services Coordinator, Ricky Allison (left).

Eric's legacy in Belleair has always centered around innovation and servant leadership, as he truly left a positive impact on not only his successor, but also on employees from all departments, and on the lives of the countless residents he impacted over his 11-plus years with Belleair.

With that, we wish Eric the greatest success and happiness in his future endeavors, and we reflect on the quote inscribed on the plaque pictured below: "It is up to us to live up to the legacy that was left for us, and to leave a legacy that is worthy or our children and of future generations."
