Commissioner Chaney and her husband, Randall, moved to Belleair in 2010. They enjoy our safe, small-town atmosphere and our abundant greenspaces with a walkable lifestyle. They have two rescue dogs, Cali and Brew, and are avid paddleboarders and hikers. Commissioner Chaney won the election to the Town Commission in 2021.
Commissioner Chaney is a graduate of Eckerd College, Regis University, and the University of Richmond’s Institute of Philanthropy. She is also a Leadership Pinellas Class of 2018 alumni.
Outside of her service to Belleair, Commissioner Chaney is a Victims’ Advocate with the Largo Police Department with 20 years of expertise in crisis response work, policy development, and community-based collaboration. She is also a non-profit consultant focused on change management and strategic planning. Currently, she is collaborating with the USF Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Lab.
Commissioner Chaney is a former board member of the Belleair Community Foundation, the Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin, the Florida Network of Victim Witness Services, and the Pinellas County Victims’ Rights Coalition. She also serves on the board for Family Enrichment Services.
Commissioner Chaney represents the Town Commission as Commissioner Advisor on the Town’s Park, Recreation & Tree Board.
