Water Treatment and Distribution The water division, headed by David Brown, is responsible for operating and maintaining the Town’s water system that was established in 1925. The water system consists of seven water production wells; 2,200,000 gallon per day water treatment facility; and 800,000 gallons of above ground storage. The water treatment plant consistently produces high quality potable drinking water that meets or exceeds both state and federal drinking water requirements.
Approximately, 850,000 gallons of high quality drinking water is distributed to 1,545 metered connections or approximately 5,000 customers daily through nearly fifty miles of pipelines which includes 135 fire hydrants for fire protection. The function of the system is to provide the town residents with a safe, continuous and ample supply of high quality potable water. |
