Join instructor Kim Scullion for Youth Tennis Lessons!

Session II: February 4, 11 & 18, 2021

All tennis lesson participants must obtain a Tennis Membership from the Dimmitt Community Center. Annual Family Membership Fee: Belleair Residents $50, Non-Residents $100. 

Ages 3-4: Sprouts 

This fun filled class gets the young player ready for action! Our Sprouts program will work on racquet coordination as well as basic athletic skills using the ABC’s (Agility, Balance, Coordination) needed for tennis in a FUN approach. Play is on a 36’x18’ court using 19” racquets and a low compression ball. Parent participation encouraged! 

Ages 5-8: Red Ball 

Players will learn basic skills including sending and receiving, strokes, movement, play fun games, start rallying and playing matches by the end of the program! Play is on a 36’x18’ court using 21-23” racquets and a low compression ball.

Ages 9-10: Orange Ball 

This class is for the player who has progressed through Red Ball and or a beginner player ages 9-10. Players will continue to work on strokes, footwork and fun competitive games that focus on fundamental skills, movement and ball control through feeding, live ball drills and rally progressions. Play is on a 60’x21’ court using 23-25” racquets and a low compression ball.
