The town provides each resident, at no additional charge, a new 64 or 48-gallon, green recycling barrel with a lid to keep material dry and help control litter. This barrel remains the property of the Town.
What Can Be Recycled?
Residents are able to recycle many items to further reduce the waste going into the landfill. Please make sure all items are clean and empty.
Recycle these items
All plastics (no Styrofoam, plastic bags, or plastic wrap)
Wide-mouth plastic and rigid plastic containers
Glass bottles and jars
Milk and juice cartons / juice boxes
Empty aerosol cans
Aluminum and steel cans
Mixed paper (if you can rip it, recycle it)
Do NOT recycle these items
Metal (although paper clips and staples are okay)
Disposing of Hazardous Waste
To dispose of household chemicals, electronics, paint, or other hazardous materials at no cost, look to attend the next Haz-to-Go Collection Event. Typically, the Town hosts two disposal events per year, sponsored by Pinellas County.
